CARAVAN AND CAMPING DETAILS 2008

Wings and Wheels offers a large camping and caravanning area close to the Southern end of the Wings & Wheels Showground, about one hundred yards from the Boat Pool and within easy walking distance of the show itself. See the Site Map for further information.

Campers should note that whilst we provide toilets (including some disabled toilet facilities), rubbish bins and water points, the nearest taps are within the showground (about 100 yards) and we are unable to provide chemical toilet or waste water disposal on site. All pitches are on grass.

N.B.  If you intend to bring a tent and wish to be sited with a friend who is bringing a caravan, it is most important that you pre-book and state this at the time of reservation.  Turning up on the day may mean that we will not be able to site specific caravans and tents together.

There will be food and entertainment in the bar on the Saturday night to which all campers are invited free of charge.

Although entrances prices have not changed for 2008, we have made some changes to child prices to make things a bit fairer for larger families. This basically means that if you bring three or four children between the ages of five and sixteen, you will only pay entrance fees for two of them. Hopefully this will ease the financial burden a bit on those of you arriving with several children.

Saturday Night Entertainment

For 2008, we are absolutely delighted to welcome Daniel Smith to Wings & Wheels. Nominated British Blues keyboardist of the year, Daniel will be dazzling all on-site participants with blues and boogie woogie from 7-11pm. A serious contender to Jools Holland as the UK's number one boogie pianist, this is a private performance only for campers, traders and participants who are staying on the airfield.  For information about Daniel and his music go to

Weekend pass wristbands

Included in the price of camping is entrance to the showground throughout the weekend. In the past we have issued cloakroom tickets which were presented on the gate but which had a distressing tendency to get lost or damaged.  This year, we are issuing wristbands for all campers which will be a much more convenient method of identification. These will be sent with your camping passes in advance of the show.
